Subscribe to our local music news feeds

You can now get the latest music news via your chosen news service or on your mobile thanks to the wonder of RSS technology. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and if you have the latest web browsers you’ll notice the orange RSS logo on pages which contain information you can subscribe to or ’aggregate’. By aggregate we just mean pulling information from one site into another - the opposite is to ’syndicate’ which is to make your information available for others to aggregate. Still with me?

If you have a new browser just simply click on the orange RSS logo when it lights up. If you don’t have a brand new browser you can still find services online which allow you to use RSS Feeds. BT Yahoo for example allows you to bring RSS Feeds into your ’My BT Yahoo’ homepage. Visit our RSS Feeds help page for details of other providers.

A number of the latest mobile phones allow you to subscribe to RSS Feeds too. For example the Sony Ericsson k800i has this funtion in the Text Messaging menus. You’ll need to consult your mobile phone manual to see if you can use this service. Visit our RSS Feeds help page for the web address you’ll need to set this up.
