The name Nitin Sawhney is, and always has been, synonymous with barrier-breaking music and breathtaking live performances and collaborations.

Sawnhey's musical ability to transcend cultural barriers has gained him recognition in both the cotemporary music world and classical community having been commissioned to wirte for, among others, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Britten Sinfonia alongside his own projects. Sawhney has recently completed a new record, Philtre which showcases his remarkable and unique ability to bring together cutting-edge music production with some of the world's finest musicians and vocalists. The album features the many and varied talents of Ojos de Brujo, Vikter Duplaix, Jacob Golden, Sharon Duncan, Ges-e, Taio, Reena Bhardwaj, and Ninja Tune's Fink, As for the live show which will be stage at The Sage Gateshead - be prepared for an audio/visual taste explosion; we guarantee it'll leave have you wanting more...

Following this full concert, Nitin Sawnhey will return to The Sage Gateshead in June to co-ordinate his 'Aftershock' project with a group of musicians from the North East.
